The ice cap covering the Antarctic landmass never melts. By drilling into the ice, scientists can recover ice formed tens of thousands of years ago. The results help track long-term environmental and climate change.
The ice is thus a set of strata with different characteristics reflecting their age and global conditions at the time. This print gives a graphic interpretation of these strata.
