"This plate was made by digitally manipulating a photograph using Photoshop, a complex piece of computer software.  Eventually, I achieved an effect that resembles a woodcut self portrait, printed it on to acetate and exposed it in sunlight against photopolymer plate.  I then discovered that I could print the same plate both as an intaglio print (using a new water-based black ink) and as a relief print (using white oil-based ink on black paper).
