Double exposure intaglio on Nyloprint WS94 plate, printed with AkuaIntaglio black water-based ink.  Paul manipulated a digital image using Photoshop software and then deliberately printed it on to double matt drafting film, a surface on which inkjet printer dye dries slowly and unevenly.  This gave the textural distortions evident in parts of the figure and in some areas of the background

The plate was exposed in mid-afternoon on a hazy Spring day.  Firstly, the transparency was exposed for 10 mins.  Then the transparency was removed and an aquatint (stochastic) screen was exposed for another 10 mins.  Only then was the plate washed out and post hardened.  This double exposure process replicated the original digital image well.
